The king of authentic Newari buff momo. Their jhol momo is famous here — a sesame-based broth that tastes exactly like home cooking. Going to Kirtipur for it is an experience in itself, and you get a great view as a bonus. Price: NPR 180-220 per plate.
Bota Momo, Boudha
A mecca for spice lovers. Bota momo means dry-fried momo tossed in red chili oil and Sichuan pepper. Locals crowd this place during lunch breaks. If you want a table, get there before noon. Price: NPR 200.
